View Full Version : The car of your dreams?

What is the car of your dreams?

If you could pick just one car no matter the price.
Imagine a you were a famous actor or something like that
and a car company of you choice would knock at your door and ask you to pick one car.
You would not be allowed to sell the car or drive any other car.
What would be your choice?

I think i'd go for the Vanquish S V12.
Or the SLR... that's really hard...

That means that it has to be practical, carry some people and some luggage over longer distances in some comfort, have a reasonable mileage, in short a diesel powered break that does not torture your back but does the job for you. I got one like that so I have stopped dreaming, until it is due for replacement.

Yeah well, in that point i'm just too egoistic to think of other people when having this choice.
Since i have no kids yet i don't need 4 seats.
Friends will have to look for someone else to give them a ride.
I mean hey this could be your drem car. How can you think of a diesel?
I'd work extra shifts if i couldn't afford the fuel

did you see the comparison Auto Motor und sport made between the new BMW 535d and the Mercedes E400CDI? (it was on Deutsche Welle TV last night) Did you ever drive a modern diesel? Then you would probably be less derogative about diesels.

I'm not derogative about diesels in any way!
I drive a diesel myself...

And if they had a diesel-Vanquish S V12 with the same specs then i'd pick the diesel

It's still difficult to think of a diesel when you have the choice to pick ANY car you want.
The BMW 535d might be a nice ride just as the E400CDI might be.
I'd still take the M5 over the 535d and the E55 AMG over the E400CDI anytime...

but your conditions for the choice also included the word ONLY car and that's where dreams more or less stop :)

Well that depends on how important a car is for you and what your car really means to you.
Just a bit of selfishness may change your choice of a car... :p

HAHA nah never seen that.
That's like the guy who inherited a Testarossa
and went to the local Ferrari dealer to ask for a draw bar...

That's why i wouldn't pick a Miura...
And if my dream car should not be able to carry a bicycle mounted on the roof so be it!
That's a scrifice i'm willing to give
I'd still rather pick me a SLR and to pass on the bicycle...
You have to choose the degree of priority you give your car.

Hmm you'd be very unhappy with a Maserati MC12 or a Dauer 962L as your everyday car.
You can hardly go shopping with those cars...

I would pick.... a full dry-carbon bodied hks-hipermax sponsored Mitsu Evo VIII. I would add 15 and 14 inch titanium brembo rotors in the front and back repectively... not what i would call a day-to-day driver, but oh well...

personally i would prefer a modified car.. something like a 800hp GT2/GT3 maybe even on the new 997 platform..

If the car was stock then it would have to be either an Slr/Enzo/Carrera GT just becuase they are the hotness of the decade..

If it had to be under $100,000 then id go for a V12TT E46... If it had to be under $50,000 then a V12TT E30 M3.. and that would be the hotness..

Do you really spell it "Groszer" Arber?
We'll we have another letter called the "sharp S" (ß).
So it's Großer Arber in Germany which means great Arber or Big Arber.
It's also called the "Mont Blanc of the Bavarian Forest".
Been there snowboarding a couple of times but i don't really like since it's "only" 1.456m high :D

I thought during the last spelling reform Germany got rid of the Sharp S, and I wouldn't know how to type it here anyway :) The route to the top coming from Bodenmais is pretty heavy, although it is not such a long climb.

Spelling reform? Hell, how should i know?
They reform the spelling (almost) every week!
Some newspapers even got back to the old type of spelling
'cause they say the new spelling reform is stupid an unnecessary.
Poor german schoolkids these days

Althogh i'm not really into climbing i heard that the way up from Bodenmais is rough.
I prefer taking the elevator up and riding down :D
