10% ethanol was the limit set by authorities. It shouldn't harm your engine

Yes well John said it is ok so it must be. Why would he lie? He is deeply concerned about how long each of our engines last. There is absoluteyl no influence vai the Nationals from the sugar growers. There is no benifit to him PR wise if it reduces the cost of fuel to consumers yet he retains all of the revenue he currently gets from exise. He has not shown any evidence of dishonesty before. :rolleyes:
Yes we do need to find out from a independant source how this may effect out engines. Its just going to be hard to find one.
I used it continuously for three years in a Mitsu Galant with no problems at all after 92,000 miles. It is not harmful too modern engines.
Any word on 40 year old mini engines?
it is somewhat harmful on your motor because it sucks moisture out of seals, gaskets, ect.
Ethanol actually increases performance slightly because it has a higher oxygen concentration than gasoline does.
You're right Ska57, because petrol doesn't contain any oxygen at all.
The addition of ethanol will slightly increase performance and slightly lower fuel economy.
Brazil runs almost stock GM cars on a very high ethanol blend.
Old cars with crappy seals need them replaced and the carb needs adjusting but most newer cars I've heard of handle 10% no problem.
If anything I said is BS please tell me.
