Volvo V40 (P1, 3rd gen) 2012-2019
[B]Volvo V40 2012[/B]
The Volvo V40 is a new small family car sold in 5-door hatchback form, and was unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. It replaces the Volvo S40 saloon and V50 estate, and will be on sale in Europe in May 2012 and the UK in August.
The V40 is the last Volvo to be designed by British designer Peter Horbury before he moved to Volvo's parent Geely.
It is built on the modified Ford C1 platform which was used by Volvo C30. Though Volvo insists that it has re-rated the electric power steering and revised every spring and damper setting.
The engine lineup is carried from current Volvo models. Two petrol engine, 1.6 litre Ford EcoBoost engine producing 150 and 180 hp and 2.5 litre I5 Volvo engine with 254 hp. 1.6 L diesel making only 95 g/km and 115 hp and 2.0 L I5 Volvo diesel engine available in two versions, 150 hp and 177 hp.
[B]Volvo V40 Cross Country[/B]
The Volvo V40 Cross Country is a version of the V40 which rides 40 millimeters higher and has a rougher bodywork.
Because it's not a real SUV it will be called V40 Cross Country instead of XC40. The Volvo XC-additive will only be used in the for SUVs. Cross Country serves as indicator for all-road versions of hatchbacks and station wagons. The maximum rim size is 19 inches. The front is recognizable by its matte black honeycomb grille and lower bumper with daytime running upright. On the side skirts are plastic and the back is characterized by a 'skid plate' containing the inscription "Cross Country".
The Volvo V40 Cross Country debuted on the Paris motorshow of 2012. And will be on the market in 2013.
