2007 Dakar Rally
Next Saturday, January the 6th, the 29th edition of the Dakar rally (previous known as Paris-Dakar) will start. This year the dazzling number of 525 teams will drive from Lisboa (Lisbon) in Portugal to Dakar in Senegal: a total of 7,915 km.
This thread will be daily updated with results and important news facts.

Hmm...noticed some WRC names on the car list. Guess this is what they do when the season's over.

I'd imagine none of the active drivers are on the list. Their season starts in two weeks time and the tests are even sooner I believe.

Isn't Dakar in Senegal?
Does anyone know if Speed Channel will be broadcasting coverage of the Rally this year? Is any station in America covering it?

Yes Dakar is in Senegal. I know Eurosport always broadcasts it, so if you can receive that,you've got it :)

No idea... I think both Jan and Gerard de Rooy really want to make up the losses they had last year. And Beckx is a great driver of course. I hope it will be a hard battle between a few drivers...
