Wow, retro has gotten to the point where companies are reviving names from barely a decade ago.
A 2.0T FSI 6 speed with a LSD, Recaros inside, BBS outside off the showroom floor sounds good to me.
Or you can put a ford 351 in it, and put a rear axle in, they go like a bat out of hell. :D

Chipped 1.8T > 351C
Who said anything about rebuilding the Scirocco? Are they looking for a sporty 2-door to slot in above the new Eos? Yes. That would mean that they are looking for a model to carry on the torch passed on by the Corrado. Should they built it? Yes. Will it be a retro remake of the Scirocco a la New Beetle? Absolutely not.
But it's silly because VW is already coming out with a new Corrado.
its a trend in the auto industry so we cant stop even if we wanted to.
A few days ago there was a thread with pic of a possible Corrado replacement. That car would be a nice successor to the sporty VW fastbacks of the past.

I saw a Scirocco a couple of days ago and wondered the same thing, why did VW stop making the Scirocco / Corrado in the first place? Anyway, I thing it's a good idea if they don't stray too far away from the original. :)
I don't care, I won't buy any VW of all my life!!!!
edit: 1000 posts!
hopefully if they do build it, it will be distanced further from the gti than it typically was. i love the idea, but if its performance matches the gti with substantially less room inside, then it will be pointless. one benefit though, is that unlike the gti, it wont be just another golf.
I know this is kind of a stupid question since I probably know the answer to it (but I dont know much about VW). Will it be RWD? (prob not).

Aside from the Classic Beatle and Safari, what was the last RWD VW you've seen? It'll be FWD, trust me. :)
I read it will be made on the platform of the Golf VI, which isnt out yet, and yes it will be fwd.
