Ferrari 288 GTO 25th Anniversary meeting

Stumbled upon this thru a link from [URL="http://www.ozcarsightings.com"]ozcarsightings.com[/URL].

The question I have is the writer says the 250 GTO pictured (about 6 pics down the bottom of the page) are replicas.

Can anyone confirm this? If they are replica's, then they are very good replicas.

If this is correct than the car is #4861, an original 250 GTE.
BTW I consider the 288 GTO the most beautiful Ferrari ever build. Here is a small tribute.

This was my absolute favorite car as a child and now I finally own one...the 1:64 Hotwheels version

I about 50 or 60 1:64 Hotwheels Ferraris (:cool:) so it fits just perfectly in my collection. I had waiting for them to make the 288 GTO since I was about 10 years old and it just came out last fall. Needless to stay, I was pretty stoked when stumbled across it in the store one day.

Just to confirm, the 250 GTO shown is a replica then, not an original.

yes, done by Terry Hoyle in 1990, based on a (shortened) 250 GTE chassis.

I went for an 1:43, as usual. The 288 GTO is wonderful, not matter which size you went for, but I have to say, 1:1 is a pretty good one ;).

I have a lovely 2-dimensional 9-1/2" by 7-3/8" example hanging on the wall of my studio...

because it all fits perfectly together. It looks right under all angles. The subtle superficial differences with the 328, which in itself is already a piece of marvel, make it stand out.
In case you would be asking, the 330 GTC comes a close second.
