When did I ever say a car was "better" because it sold for a lot of money?
Nowhere. But you started comparing a massive Cadillac something or other with a Volkswagen Bus, back in post #132. Quite an unfair and silly comparison if you ask me. From then on it just degenerated and ended up in a comparison of expensive classic cars.
What a waste of money! I could buy a lot of '50s and '60s American cars for that money.
as well as a good second hand crude oil tanker...

And some people say I have a short memory!
I was comparing the acceleration figures of the VW Bus (and VW Karmann) to the Camaro those guys on Top Gear were criticizing. Cadillac wasn't mentioned at all regarding that.

With $24 million, refueling would hardly be a problem. I would need just as much fuel if I spent the money on certain exotic sports cars which get about the same mileage.
BTW, I can't find a record of any Mercedes being sold for $24 million. I did find the (1931) Bugatti Type 41 being sold for $8.7 million.
I'm just following your nonsense arguments see if you realise how stupid they are.
I found it here. Unfortunately it doesn't give any details other than the car and the price.
The price of the Mercedes in mentioned in this link...
Too dangerous for those type of cars which lift a tire while cornering. ;)
First ... a car is lifting an inner wheel because it is cornering very quickly.
It's NOT because it's "bad".
Certainly NOT "dangerous" -- unles the driver is a numpty :)
So you definately would get a limo round the corner without lifting a wheel but it woudl be 30+mph slower than a car on the limit when it lifts a wheel. Limos dont' lift wheels because of simple lever mechanics and mass - ie they lose grip before sufficient force is present to lift it !!

Oh yes it was. It seems you didn't understand it then. You might as well watch the video, altough I don't know if you'll find it funny... :p
And even with the Camaro, it still was a preposteorus comaprison.

"fantastically slow"
This comment was made in reference to the post quoted below. It's James May who says it and it's in reference to the Cadillac he bought.

Word.
I like my Focus, but I keep noticing all the little things about new cars that pushed me away from them in the first place. I'm not considering anything newer than a '62 Chevy for my next car.

If a limo goes around the corner 30+ mph slower, that's fine with me! I'm not in any hurry, anyway!
And I already know why limos don't lift wheels.

'62 Chevy? Good choice. Certainly better than something like a new Acura or whatever.
I've got a road test of a '62 409 Chevy somewhere. It had a few modifications, like headers and I think a balanced and blueprinted engine.
With those mods (and running a 4.56:1 rear axle ratio) and weighing 3,500 lbs, it ran a 4.0 second 0-60 mph and a 12.2 sec @ 112 mph 1/4 mile.
(Car was tested by Car Life magazine.)

I understood perfectly what I was saying. If those Top Gear guys thought the Camaro and Cadillac accelerated slow, I could refer them to dozens upon dozens of '60s and '70s Euro and Jap cars which would really crack them up. Of course, being non-American cars, they would probably praise their "acceleration!"

As I said before, they should have tested a real Camaro, like a '69 Z/28 or a 427 Yenko Camaro (good for 11s in the 1/4 mile) and a late-'60s high-compression, 375-hp Cadillac. Now those would have impressed them (even if they didn't admit it).

An oil tanker? I'd rather buy other things for $24 million. Like a nice, big mansion (preferably haunted) or maybe an island.

I just wanted to quote another nonsense example besides your american cars:D

At least they didn't have massive, ineficient engines though.
