they added the control links i think VX2. all they do is fix a problem experienced with the suspension when the cars a pushed hard, where they get fairly uneven rear tire wear. i think they first brought it in with either the VT2 GTS or VX GTS. but it will be VE when they get a new rear end, but i think its still going to be a mainstream multilink design, ford really broke the mould for IRS with the control blade

Well they showed the way with the controll blade in RWD cars all consdiering all the cars it origonally came out with were FWD (focus, jag) Well it seems holdens keeping a fim lid on what they have planned.

well considering the X-type is AWD and FWD, the falcon wasnt exactly the first to use it with power going to the rears, but they emphasised mainly on it being the first large RWD to use it, with the mondeo based x-type being medium sized.
holden could be keeping a tight lip so not many people ask too many questions about the technicalities, so when it comes time to release the car, they market it as a multi link setup which in reality is nothing special, and so the headlines read "holden updates to 21st century technology" rather than something like "something crap replaced with nothing special" from a media who have known whats coming for a while
