It might help for future references that, like everything you get off the internet, find several sources quoting the same thing so you know its accurate.
I don't know how Toyota fanboys, and normal, intelligent fans as well, remember all the engine codes. There's so many, they're all so confusing and give no clues to what sort of engine it will be, ie engine size, cam config etc. Nissan engines give you some hope of getting it right.
4A-GE- Corolla Trueno/Levin JDM spec
3A-U gutless AE85 motor pulling 85hp
1JZGTE- Single turbo
2JZGTE- twin turbo setup on the Supra/Toyota Aristo
22R- truck engine
i learned this cause my family has 2 toyota's and I read lots of Initial D
I thought that the r34 has 400 hp
uh oh! here we go again! it has 276. Live with it!
Well technically it woul dhave to do with the type of race.
Tiems for a stock skyline r34
Performance
Acceleration
0-30 mph : 1.5 sec.
0-60 mph : 4.0 sec.
30-50 mph : 1.7 sec.
50-70 mph : 2.0 sec.
Quarter Mile : 12.3 sec. at 112 mph
are a stock r34's times. I thought that the r34 has 400 hp not 276 as in the first post. I cant find any stock supra times.
It would be a toss up honestly. Skylines and supra's are both nicer cars. I dont just watch F&F. Hate the show honestly.
You cheered me up and made me laugh..thanks mate.
Reading this thread kills more braincells than catching a bullet with you head.

isn't the 1JZGTE a twin turbo? that's the 2.5 TT in the soarer isn't it? idk lol

(bangs head against table) shit you're right
1J is the 2.5, 2J is the 3litre (I think)
yep, theres single and twin 1JZs and only TT 2JZs
1Js are from MK3 supras and 1st and 2nd gen soarers (2nd gen gets 4L V8 option though) 2J are in Aristos and MK4 supras in non and twin turbo only.
Is the 2 litre a 1J or does it have a different code?

1jzs are also available in twin turbo.
And the earlier supra twin turbo is the 1gg-ute its 2 litresin answer to your queastion classy) and genuinly feels sluggish:( the 7m-gte the motor that replaces it is a quikcer motor but is severly malaligned because of head gasket problems and also a ceramic wheel turbo with a bad habit of expiering (like most 80s turbos)
i woukd prefer the skyline, better handling many more mods than the supra.
the supra's main attraction is its engine and its capability
with an RB26 motor and the right mods, you would easily surpass the supra
Don't bump this thread unless you have something profound to say, it degenerated into arguing about insignificant details along time ago.
