You'd be surprise sometimes how simple it is to package a V8....though it also depends on which V8...
Typical Subaru I think has the turbo sitting behind the engine next to the transmission. Toyobaru's engine is further back than your typical AWD Subaru and sitting against the firewall....
I think some of the drift/race turbo setup has the turbo plumb forward of the engine....

Well apparently Toyota has cancelled plans for a faster GT86 and also the convertible version, so who knows. I read the article somewhere but I can't quite find it now.
If I was in charge I'd drop Subaru's flat six engine in there, call it BRZ GT and put it on sale.
Well, apparently there will be a BR-Z STi. Some sources say you can't fit a turbo, others say you can. I've seen aftermarket companies fit Toyota V8 engines, so I'm not sure why they couldn't if they really tried. But then again, I'm no expert at plumbing.
In any case, one of the biggest complaints may be resolved. I'm not sure if there will be a TRD GT-86.
So maybe not turbo?

So it's sort of a Japanese S-Line-AMG-M-Pack.
Mild disappointment.

Or just like the Honda's Performance Package for their Civic and Accord....mild body kit, lowering spring and different roll bars.

that's the state of the industry, not of the car;)
If you cannot compete on a global basis you are out...as simple as that

Indeed. If many European manufacturers are struggling because of their dependence on the European market, depending on an even smaller market is going to make things even tougher.

I guess this is relevant here...
Or maybe for the "Future state of cars"...
You tell me this 5-10 years ago I think it'll be pretty nuts. But Seeing just how much EV and their supporting structure is coming along, I don't think its entirely ridiculous....Though any form of forced implementation is not the most productive/rational way of going about change...
-
TO put the above in context .... after a "partnership" with the Conservatives for government the LibDems are now a party nobody would vote for ... so clearly they have to go after the nutters who think we can actually *ban* things like transport !!!
-
So other than the regional parties in NI, Wales, and Scotland, who is worth voting for? Who will England vote for? I figure UKIP and the BNP will do better.
-
You've got it spot on ... and why the tories and lib dems are running to extreme right wing points of view to try to stop that !!

Welcome to Europe!

The common person cannot except blame! Blame the people with darker skin and/or those from other places! Scapegoatism: still running strong.

Perhaps. The State Of The Car is that a particular lump of plastic and metal can be peddled as any one of a number of different cars by virtue of a badge. In this case GM was trying to introduce a “new” brand by reintroducing cars that in the past were badged as Holdens. I expected the brand snobs, who would have previously eschewed Astras and Vectras because they were shitty old Holdens for brands like Alfas and Peugeots and Renaults because they were European, to fall for it and buy them. Now that they were European.
But it seems I underestimated the Australian car buying public. No one is more surprised than I.
