i posted a pic higher then 800 pixels, but it seems to be ok since no one say a word about that:p

all my pics are taken with a phone...
And I dislike the idea of having a size limit. UCP already has a limit how big the attachment is.
The 800 refers to the maximum size in either height or width, because you can post photos in the portrait orientation at 600x800, tall images don't need to be resized to 600 pixels tall. Just make sure no image exceeds 800px in either direction.
This is just a rule that's been in effect since competitions started, to keep all images completely viewable and even when posted in voting threads. I know most people have higher resolutions, and I considered increased the limit to 1000 pixels, but 800x600 is still preferred overall.
I definitely like the size limit, simply for consistency's sake. It makes comparing the photos much simpler when they're all the same size.
A picture wider than 800 pixels can not be shown inline, so it is not so much a rule of the photography competitions, but a general forum rule.
can you make that built-in to the forum "Insert Image" tool ? I mean the same way it wont let anyone attach a file that exceeds a certain size it should do the same with the inline images
hmm. idea: how about adding a specific theme for the general competition?
ex: this time, we'll do macro's. or this time, you guys will have to take pics of..ps3's.
As far as I know, there were talks about themed competitions but the idea never seemed to take off. It'd likely lessen the amount of entries, and limit the freedom of the current competitions.

Why does the building look bent?
Is that city hall in the bottom left - it looks like it form that angle, but the shot looks like it was take far north of there, or is my knowledge of downtown that poor?
What building where you in?

It could have been lens distortion.
I'm wondering why it's bent too.

You mean the truck right?
Has the Audi R10 been the only diesel contender?
Also, in the early days of the race have there been other forms of fuel as well?
Do rules allow other forms of fuel, e.g. electricity, etc?

We're too busy drinking Molson Canadian and watching hockey to make our buildings straight.
Cheers!
