I'll glady take a Sagaris, none of the other cars have the mad look or the sound of the TVR 6.
Why not post the power to weight ratios? ;)
Power to weight is not the only indicator -
TVR Sagaris - 371 hp/ton
Corvette Z06 - 350 hp/ton
but the Corvette is much more torque (637 Nm vs. 473 Nm) and chassis tuning, and as a result - it is faster.
Look and sound, this is not an objective indicator - How many people, so many opinions.
Personally I like the simplicity of appearance of the American automobile.
Sound of the V8 engine, better than the V6 ;)
-
TVRs used to have straight sixes, not V6s.
-
And they were also pretty awesome.

Yes, I was wrong, but it does not change the V8 is better ;)

No, they aren't.
To be fair, Porsche is in business.
Where is TVR?
They would have been in business if it weren't for some silly decisions. The 'Speed Six' engine is a fine thing, but the complexities of building that engine and dealing with the reliability issues left the companies' finances in a critical state. If TVR wanted to build their own engines, they should have started with something easier first. - Smolenski was just the final nail in the coffin.
I'd consider a TVR if I culd afford at least 2 other cars, one of which being a grand tourer. Something comfortable yet sporty as a... GranTurismo. That's why it's called GranTurismo :D
The other car being something more roomy, like a MB R-Klase. You know it's my softspot.
TVR isn't something I could see myself in covering like 60 km a day
Would be definitely cool to own a Tuscan though.
Why? Some of their engines are only decently warmed-up after about 20-minutes of driving (you shouldn't rev a Speed Six above 4k rpm until the oil has warmed up - not if you don't want to pay for an engine rebuild anyway). A Tuscan is actually a very comfortable and capable long-distance car. I'd certainly tour Europe in one, as many of our club members do.;)
Top Gear Test Track
Corvette Z06 - 1.22.4
TVR Sagaris - 1.24.6
Nordschleife
Corvette Z06 - 7:42.90
TVR - ?
Both very fast cars for the price! Some tracks will suit the Sagaris better, some will suit the Z06. The availability of upgrades for either means you can make them much quicker track cars, too.
Engine size? But he, TVR is not small too (4 liter). You can think of the europeans AMG 63 (6,2 liter) or Bentley (6,75 liter)...
Why not divide by zero?

Seconded.

Thirded...and TVR Made V8s, too. ;)

The last Sagaris was made in 2006....how time flies.

Well, on all products TVR, three potential buyers :D

Even on the TVR understand that V8 engine is better. GM V8 :p

Wasn't that V8 made by Rover and then used by GM, or was it the other way around
GMs V8 does sound good, but TVRs 6 is a lost pearl in the automotive world.

The other way round. It was originally a Buick engines, but Umhericans didn't like radical features like the aluminium block and it was far too small for them.
TVR did end up designing their own V8s, though.

Trust me: I'd hit that like a ginger stepchild. ;)

:p
That's just one mod that's been done to the Sagaris by members of the Owners' Club...another was to supercharge the Speed Six for a 650BHP monster.

The selling point of TVR was that they made mental cars, which made every journey a special occasion. Every time TVR is mentioned everyone says "Grrr ... they're dangerous!".
Buy a Prius if you want a safe car. If you want something that will complement your massive testicles, buy a TVR.
"Grrr ... they're unreliable!". Buy a Prius.
(Also the AJP engines were no more unreliable than the K-Series engines used in the Lotus Elise and Exige, and yet you don't hear everyone shouting "UNRELIABLE" when Lotus is mentioned).
As Clivey has been saying, in comparison Porsches have no character. You sit in a Porsche and you're confronted with a fairly bland "efficient German" interior. You sit in a TVR and it's full of aluminium and sweeping leather and gauges and you feel like you're in a spaceship. However the best thing about TVRs for me is the noise. (I used to be an apprentice mechanic at a TVR/Lotus dealer).

As a dude who has had a Rover V8'd car and a (BMW) I6'd car, I prefer the sound of an I6 any day. The V8 is evocative, burbly lovelyness but the I6 is pure mechanical bliss to my ears.
