Too bad for that Exige, burning down to the ground isn't exactly a nice way to end a race.

Nick Trott made a comment about Dr. Bez thinking of racing the Cygnet (facetious) after seeing this (see image) on the track.
-
So 3 cars remain on the lead lap according to the video link provided by Leon - an R8, a GT3, and an M3. The Manthey car has dropped to 7th.
When will the race end local time?

Sunday 13:00-16:00. GMT I think.
-
I mised what happened to the #1 Manthey and to the #25 M3.
I think I've just heard something about he #1 on the radio, broken chassis or my English abilities are getting worse? Some sort of results after being hit by a Golf which just crashed in front of them.
The bimmer was hit by debris and is now in the pits for a new radiators, for what I understood.
EDIT: meanwhile, the only Ferrari ever entered in this race is up in 4th position, and AFAIK it isn't even an highly tuned car, meaning it is "just" a standard GT2 car and not further tuned as with some Porsches out there, or the R8 LMS which is definitely not running in GT3 specs.

Pretty much. The #1 got owned by hitting a car that had spun up the track.

So the 99 R8 that had to be towed off by a Tiguan that seemed to be dead is leading, while the almighty Manthey team is out of the running!?!?

Towed back to the pits. Looks like they're out.

No, that was the #98 and the SUV was a Touared of the first gen, albeit restyled, even if the dudes over Radio Le Mans kept on guessing what it was from a new Touareg to a Touran.
IIRC #98 was then repaired but then I lost track of it.

Ah ok. Looks like that's out too - 155th position. My bad. :o
-
Hybrid and R8 are doing battle for the win. They seem to just exchange positions every pit stop.

DAmn, sorry guys, shoudl have posted this link 24h Rennen am Nrburgring 2010
Hopefully you've fouidn it from links on the 24h sites already referenced ?
Just back ( well back 8 hours ago - but "recovered" is a better term then ) from family wedding.
Right, LOTS of motorsport/bieks to catch up on the PVR :) :)
-
So what happened to the Hybrid? Slept a bit too much this morning :p
The F430 is looking for a smashing debut. Excellent result for the brand new Z4 GT3 as well, while probably Audi underestimated the task fielding more cars, but also suffering a lot of technical problems for a car which has one its stronget point in reliability.
-
Fantastic result for the M3 (LeMans '98 when all the front runners break down). The hybrid hit technical problems not related to the hybrid system. Sad day for Manthey and top Porsche drivers, but as long as an R8 wasn't winning the race I'm happy with the result.
