Is anyone into the music of Jean-Michel Jarre ?I am...
www.jarre.net
Oxygene - a definitive album - AND i've got it on original vinyl ( some of you have probably never even SEEN vinyl outisde of a club :) )
Mike Oldfield, Tubular Bells., Hergest Ridge, Ommadawn
Isao Tomita - Pictires, Planets, Snoflakes
Gotta go drag out and dust down the vinyl and turn the volume up on some electronic music, I'd forgotten how much I loved all of those :)
The problem with 30+ years of a music collection is first remember the good ones and secondly finding a way to play the vinyl ones :)
P: Foudn an on-line site for clips of Tomita - http://www.isaotomita.net, http://www.isaotomita.net/sounds/Tomita%20-%20Recordings%20-%20Pictures%20At%20An%20Exhibition%20(Excerpt).rm Listen to this along with Emerson, Lake and Palmers version (live) and a full orchestral. I like listening to all 3 :) ( just not at the SAME time :) )

Ive started listening to some Jimi Hendrix .. its some good stuff. Some of it drags on .. especially the live stuff but the gituar solos are excellent. Theres plenty of it too :)

I'm into rap. Jay-Z, Kanye, Talib Kweli, all the guys from Shady-Aftermath, Xzibit's new album is pretty solid, and there's quite a few others who i really like.

used to be into all the blink 182's greenday's etc and still enjoy them but have found that as i got older i liked older music.
now i listen to a wide variety of music like the beach boys, hendrix, kraftwerk, beatles, bob dylan everything really.
as for modern music i'm really into mogwai and they are probably my favourite band at the moment, they are the kings of chilled out music.

I'm 20 years old and it's not a "wigger" stage. I can really relate to some of the things Kanye says, and i just really enjoy the music.
Oh and I forgot to mention, I like some R&B too. Mainly Usher and Alica Keyes.

calling someone a wigger because they listen to rap is stereotypical... Although I'd rather listen to good dance/techno/trance, some hip-hop (good hip-hop, not sh1te hip-hop) and rap is good. Only the softer stuff though, like Jay-Z.

All-time favs include The Verve, Smash Mouth, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Lots of older favs too like Frank Sinatra and The Beach Boys.
Lately I've really taken to chillout vibe kinda stuff, though there's a bit of variety even there. Lots of Thievery Corporation, Fauxliage, Bitter:Sweet, Morcheeba, Caro Emerald, and the like.
I've also gotten on a bit of a bluesy kinda kick lately. Chiefly it was Junior Kimbrough, who has one of the most hypnotic sounds I've ever run into, but it spills out to others like The Rolling Stones, cover artist Samantha Fish, or out towards Gary Clark, Jr., who's really popped onto my radar lately.
