Wow, you're starting to give me a headache right now :D I don't know what to tell you, I'm just not aware of that kind of things. I agree with what you say, you could be right. I never heard of people failing for no reason though. All I know is that I passed the test and received my license, that's all I care about. I didn't ask my teacher exactly how they give licenses, I was trying to focus on what he was telling me to do (or not to do) and pass the tests. That's a good debate though, I have to inform myself.
OK, that's good, maybe we can get some contributions from people south of the Great Lakes, to see how they passed...
So henk4, I asked my father to clear the debate once and for all: my driving school was certified by the SAAQ, which means the teachers are representatives of the society as well as being teachers for the driving school. My father also passed his final exam with the same teacher, but my mother passed her final exam with a different person. It all depends of the driving school. That's the way it works here. I'm glad I finally understood all this mess.

Well our driving schools are also certified, but only to the extent that people proposed by a recognised driving school can go for the test..And never has the examiner been with you in the car before.

At least we don't drive snail slow on dry roads, and death slow on wet/snowy roads.

In another thread I already but the American traffic mortality rate into European perspective... (about three times as high as in Holland):)
After the "way to obtain the license" debate, seems like the Canadian drivers vs. the world debate is beginning! :D

You obviously havn't been to Toronto or Montreal.
I had to hold my instructor at gunpoint in order to get my license.

You act as if that isn't standard practice in New Jersey.
I have to ask Rocke, is Newark as dangerous as pointed in Harold and Kumar Goes to White Castle?

Well, that was kind of an extreme example but yeah, Newark is pretty dangerous. Camden is worse though.

I can second that. Camden is extremely bad, no joke. I will not go there for any reason.

Gold. :D
Congrats mate! I assume you'll be trying to get out on the road asap :)
