fail.
I thought Microsoft was supposed to be the antichrist?
They are. Apple is just a slightly smaller evil corporation.
Funny how the article has 0 diggs.
Wow. Biggest dick move ever?
"Just happens to be a side effect of our update." my ass.
bloody bastards..
As if it wasn't expected. Apple can't have people modding their product. thats just not how it's done.
But still, this just sucks. it's supposedly even affecting standard iPhones.
As 'ballz said. Fail.
*shrugs* Gutted. Apple sold the contract to one company. Therefore that one company deserves the business, it's only fair. So anyone who tries to hack it should deservedly get messed up.
Word on the street is that the update doesn't discriminate. It will quite hppily brick a non-jailbreak phone.
It's a symptom of the American style of telecommunications. you buy the device locked to a network.
And because they've monopolised the marketing and selling of said device it does not go down well with most of those who sell, make and use Mobile phones in other ways to the American system - indeed many American subscribers are displeased.
Even locked US phones allow you to add/remove programs though. thats just stupid that they delete them.
Apple gets back $$ from AT&T based on iPhone revenue - so it's in Apple's best interests to keep iPhone users on the AT&T network.
If you had the know-how/balls to hack it to work with other networks, you could probably hack it again to circumnavigate the update.
Wow, $400ish for a really expensive phone that's not so great as a phone and not so great as an MP3 player. And there's a risk that it could be useless.
Fail.
Wow, apple comes up with a product people actually want, and it has bugs. HAHAHAHAHAHA!! Suck it, condescending hipster apple guy(the guy in the commercials).
