Wow, what a cool project! Mazda is based in Hiroshima, so it makes sense to get kids involved with their history.

That's super awesome, I wish I coulda done something like that in high school.
My high school had a shop class supposedly, but it closed long before I even got there.
I honestly think schools these days are going the wrong direction, too much is emphasized on going to college for academics, but for those that don't, I don't see many options for vocational school.
There's something very satisfying in putting something together, like Lego or a piece of furniture. I hope these high schoolers get to drive their creation when they get their license... or if Mazda could put it on a track, maybe before that. Heck, this very project may be inspiring the designer of the very next generation GT 86.

I have been looking for this information for a long time, I was very surprised when I found it here.
These young kids did a great job!
It was indeed a cool project, that car was pretty small.
