Skyactivs are Atkinson cycle though, so there is some "trickery" involved still, heh.

TVRs4eva, this is one of our big goals - our solution so far, is to make everything mechanical in a very straight forward wizard sort of format, with good explanations of what each part does etc as you go through the process.
Thisgame sounds like a great idea and I'll definitely be following it.
Since I found it through Automation's website and I can't be bothered with a new thread... I came across this.

Looks moderately interesting. Not much info so far though.
Turbos have been released now.
I have been fiddling with them a bit but either the numbers are wrong or they are witchcraft to me...
My engines keep failing because they make too much torque...
Its like SimCity for the autoworld!
Except that the new SimCity sucks.
Anyone know if this'll work on a Mac?

I can get a lot of torque, but not much power (for a turbocharged engine that is). Torque figures seem to be far too high in relation to power/displacement.
Also compression ratio seems too low even on direct fuel injection and 98RON fuel.

Ask them.
It is fun designing engines. Maybe we could make a thread for the ideal engine and post them.
Once the car designer is released it will be the ultimate time waster.
Also got my grubby paws on this game and it kind of makes time disappear. Haven't fiddled around with the turbos too much just yet, but planning to soon.
Can't wait to give the designer portion a go once it's available.
I wasted a lot of time on DesktopDyno....
I remember making a 250cc single-cylinder engine in Desktop Dyno that made 1,400hp.
I kinda want to find it again, so's that I can compare it to Automation.
Car designer has been released for those who have pre-ordered.
I've done what I thought was a superb sports saloon which for some reason ended up looking a bit like a tarted up Octavia.
I wanted to post picture of my contraption but I can't fathom out how it works...
1: An attempt at an AMV8
2: The Blorblefish (®©™, I'm looking at you, Peugeot!)
3: If instead of Alfa making a Miata, they made a Silvia
4: Befuddled SZ
5: A sedan that accidentally has a Supra's front end
6: Kitdy's Dream Ride (btw, the lack of opera windows and landau tops is pitiful)
How the hell do you capture pictures? And where do they end?

6 Looks like a cross between a Neue Classe grille, new Cherokee upper uggo lights, NASCAR 90s era cabin and tail with a bit and of Malaise Camaro, donk, and rice.
I love it!
