this is an interesting article i found regarding feelings that in the near future china plans to dominate asian and soon after, the world. is it just people being paranoid or do you think it holds any weight?

Well the editor of the article has very childish opinions about certain things. It's not good vs bad people. It's not heroes vs evil doers (this reminds me of stataments Bush Jr. made).
Grow out of it (I'm refering to the editor of the article). Stop watching G.I.Joe and Thundercats (by the way it will be out on DVD around $65 :D).
Seriously now, every country in the world wants to expand its dominance and maximize its affect on other countries. I don't see why this is a bad target to have. The US have done it successfully and are Top Of The Pops now. Before them the Ancient Chinese or Babylonians and so forth.
Someday the US will go down slowly and another power will rise. Many predict that this new power will be China. I suppose that it's the most likely thing to happen given their economy's growth rates.
And I don't want to hear about the confrontation of Communism vs Capitalism. It's not the 70's now. Get over it. It doesn't sell any more...
i though it was gonna be the mid-east?, didn't nostradamous(major sp error i think) say that the mid-easterns were gonna rise, make another crusade, kill the new pope(benedict the XVI or whatever, i don't keep up with that, the new pope though) and conquer the world?, at least take Europe and America.

It is that they woudl become the Hegemony - the MOST POWERFUL nation.
