Dix Mille Tours 2019 highlights with Group C Jag, RSR Porsche and Ferrari BB LM ...

The last place we expected to be today was at the office as the annual Dix Mille Tours was scheduled to be run this weekend. For obvious reasons it has been postponed to a later date but we nevertheless wanted to illustrate why we like it so much by illustrating three cars that featured in the 2019 edition.
First up in this mighty Jaguar XJR-12 that boasts a particularly purple version of the legendary Silk Cut livery. It was built specifically for Le Mans in 1991 and also finished first in class at Sebring the following year. Following its contemporary racing career, chassis J12-C-891 was displayed for many years in the TWR Museum before being brought back out for historic racing.
Built just two years later, is this Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.8, which was originally raced by a Swiss team. One of 55 built, this car holds the distinction of being the last car that the late Swiss racing legend Claude Haldi campaigned at Le Mans. In 22nd outing at Le Mans, he finished fourth in class with this RSR 3.8.
Competing in the ever spectacular CER2 class last October was this Ferrari 512 BB LM. It is the second example built and was raced twice both at Le Mans and Daytona. Now in French hands, 26683 suffered from some mechanical issues but we expect it back out again when racing, hopefully, resumes later this year.
