I guess we'll have to fit some pedals into UCP supercar now that we have no engineer...
I reckon I lol'ed after reading that post... :D

Yep. Take it from me: though being an high class engineer, he can talk dirty when he's really into it. :D
<Not trying to prove you wrong, just speaking from an indefinate equational point of view.
THere is no right or wrong in research and development.
My input was from 100% experience and education ( as in now me sharing it to industry :) )
So... what the hell will we be using?
a Mid Engine setup with 4 seats and a GT?

We don't know, it seems the project has come to a halt...
We don't know, it seems the project has come to a halt...
Maybe there should be another poll, perhaps a Yes/No one. Because there still seems to be enough interest to continue this project, nobody just know's what to design.
I just don't see it having a Mid-engine layout. I know that more people voted for Mid-engine RWD but I will bet you that none of them where thinking (hmm lets get that into a GT).
See Alpine A610 :)
( OK technically rear engine .... but a 50/50 weight distribution :) )
Put the RX8 doors on an A610 ---- 4 seat, 4 door, performance GT

perma-banned?
but who can we have arguments about technical things with now..
perma-banned?
Not yet. Hell re-opens in a week. :)

His last post was deleted because it was highly offensive.
Unfortunately it was not his last. He'll have another chance to behave like a grown up, which maybe is asking too much.

thanks for explaining. shame he couldnt convey his ideas without demanding full attention and acceptance.
We are either going to have a big heavy GT or a heavy 4 seater sports GT, that's cool.
What if, there were two power sources?
An electric system to support he car at chug-about-town speeds and then a largish but 'revable' NA motor to scream at high speeds.
It would be like an M5 but with better low speed comfort.
Also, what are the drivetrain people thinking? or are they waiting for our first moves?
i am not focusing on exact specifications, just looking at cylinder head, engine block and combustion chamber designs that can be fine tuned once we have more of an idea. These aspects can be easly altered once we know configeration, mass etc. technically we should decide capacity, bore/stroke ratio and configeration based upon characteristic equations and not personal prefeance. These characteristic equations would consider friction, balance, space efficiency and component interactions.
Well I think the suggestion of a 12 cylinder 6000cc or 7000cc engine is way off the scale for what we are going to need.
yes, 5.5 litre is enough, and the engine is already there....
