I thought the FT86R-S was gonna be around 30k in the US. So it is less less than I thought it would be, which is good, but still a bit higher than ideal, which I would chalk up to the Yen.
The question on everyone's mind is: how much will it be in Canada?
With dealer markup and intense demand, that sounds about right.
Also, if Subaru is only bringing 6,000 BR-Zs, I doubt Scion is going to bring much more than that too.
Probably 30k...How much is Miata in Canada?
A ridiculous 29k.
-
Yeah then the 30k guess is not far off for a FR-S....in US the Miata starts at $23.5k I believe.
How much does a V6 Mustang cost?

They have revised the number to 100,000 but that includes all brands.
1999 Civic Si is as fast, cheaper and gets way better mileage.

Off the top of my head... 23? Starts at 24 actually.
Don't you have the internet? I know you live in the States, but you can throw down a .ca, hah.

Not RWD, and you are probably more likely to die in a crash in one as you are hooning about...
Its probably as fast as it needs to be, but the pricing is the disappointment...I guess it falls down to the same argument with buying a Miata, if you want out right speed and power, a hot-ish econobox like a SI or GTI(and of course a ST or MS3) will be faster(and probably cheaper, and more practical), but if you want a RWD "sports car" with a more "pure" driving experience you would go with something like this or a Miata. This has less of a penalty on practicality with the roof and a bit more space....And if you don't mind the size, a Mustang is better buy than all of them...

Haha, I agree!
But I've never driven a RWD car and if I were to buy a new car, this would be it.
I'd like the proper RWD experience.
But if you were going into previous models, I'd so much rather have a CRX Si (much more desirable too!). But good luck getting any of those unmolested. And even better luck keeping them for yourselves. I had a EG Civic Si hatch at one time. But then they stole the damn car by goddamn towing it.
I was actually going to learn how to drive stick in that car, but I didn't have a license at that point.
And an Integra GS-R would do very nicely. My uncle had two- one manual, one automatic. He bought the automatic to replace the manual one- because it was stolen. And then the automatic one was stolen too.
Goddamn it, I hate how Honda makes products everyone wants to steal.
If their new products were any better people would be stealing them too.

It makes me laugh that due to the relative affordability, there are more muscle, sports and supercars on US roads, yet some tools are still stealing Civics. Must be the image...

It's the stupid Fast and the Furious generation.
That movie did much more damage than good. Made them craploads of money and destroyed the last batches of unmolested Hondas.
Seriously, if the next Fast and the Furious has the GT-86 or BR-Z, I'm going to get a heart attack.
I get sad every time someone brings up the idea of an old Civic Si. :(

I know; try finding just about any unmolested 90's Japanese performance cars. It's depressing. :(

At the moment, it's rather "find any 90' japanese performance cars" for me. Where have they gone? The only one I've seen in the recent months was a 300ZX.

You can still find ridiculously over priced MKIV Supra once in a while...
-
The gouging has begun.

That's why you don't buy the first generation cars that are out there.
But isn't there some sort of guarantee for Scion where there can't be any gouging?
-
They are supposed to be around $39000 here in Oz which isn’t bad for what it is. Nothing in the rear wheel drive sport coupe genre anywhere close. I like it and I would like it.
