I don't want to discuss your pants blowing!
Don't know whether to get it now or wait till december/christmas.
I was on the multiplayer Beta before i came to Uni. Hands down my favorite FPS ever...
comes out on friday in the UK.
infinityward always were one of the best developers for war-sims. I used to spend every night on COD1 online. The demo is brilliant, and the performance is fantastic (on pc, where the game belongs ofc :p)
Just a shame reviews have said the singleplayer is pretty short. But the multiplayer looks awesome so..
"ofc"?
This is available for the PC too, right?
I'll definitely take a look if it is.
Eh, the game was good when they had BF: Vietnam. When i first saw the screenshots i thought they were from Ghost Recon...
I cant afford a next-gen console and my computer is junk so I got the ds version. Even the ds version is good, although I can only imagine what the proper console/pc ones are like. Ah well, life is still swell back here in 2002.
"ofc"?
ofcourse?

You cant really compare this:

what do you mean 'they had BF vietnam'? You mean back in the day what that was out, and now it doesnt look that good? or are you confusing COD4 for BF? :p
I played the demo and it was pretty awesome, it runs decently on my 5 years old PC too...
torrenting...lol
The single player missions are definately not the longest in the gaming world. But the single players were always pretty short in COD battles.
Just to mention - M16 + underslung grenade launcher = pwnage
also, .50 calibre snipers = hax
Shooting people through thinner walls = hilarious "Where the f*ck did i just get shot from!?!"
Hated COD2. Hated COD3. Not bothering with COD4
eh, i'll pick it up sometime.
maybe.

have fun with the installation and MP issues

Amazing game..but the biggest let down perk " LAST STAND " wrecks online multiplayer if u ask me
I duno, it only gets you if you dont kill them properly first :p

This shiz is on my Christmas list. May not be able to wait that long though.
Headshot indeed, twelve guage to the back from close range works pretty well (gives you a chance to make the follow up shot faster)
I was going to buy it yesterday, then I was going to buy it today...then I remembered NFS is out next week and halo3 is still fun
maybe in a month;)
...yeah, i think COD4 instead of NFS will be my choice
but the FEAR expansion thing is coming out too :(
...yeah, i think COD4 instead of NFS will be my choice

youre probably right, but I have been buying nfs since it first came out....I would feel weird not buying it
my point was, too many good games have come out recently and I dont have enough time to play and dont feel like dishin out $65 every week for something i have no real time for

lol i stopped buying NFS at the first underground game.
what i dislike is that every other game dropped in price by $20-30 but COD4 stays at full price (just over, in fact). EA is ridiculous
New games always cost more.
I duno, I got mine for eighty four bucks @ big W.
games wizards had it at 110 and I thought "f*ck that."
New games always cost more.
thank you for that genius insight
however halo 3 and the fear expansion pack came out with a significantly cheaper price at launch.
i'll either shop around for a cheaper COD4 or persuade the shop to discount

That's straight retarded then. All new games at any major retailer in the US always have games at the same prices.
That's straight retarded then. All new games at any major retailer in the US always have games at the same prices.
it's possibly to do with the economy, it makes sense that ea would keep charging the same price even though other companies dropped their prices in accordance with the exchange rate. it's not like ea is known for caring and concern over the well being of it's customers
That's straight retarded then. All new games at any major retailer in the US always have games at the same prices.
That's called price fixing.
That's called price fixing.
Or MSRP. Either way.

A .12 guage to the back from chose range won't kill someone? LAME.

Online play on COD3 was absolute garbage compared to the Socom I was playing before it. It was the worst online experience I've had. I mean it didn't even have an in game friends list. Then again it was PS2...
No i meant BF: Vietnam, that was probably the best MMOFPS, up until now everythings been kinda boring. And the BEST CoD was the FIRST, theyve been shit since, BiA is WAAAY better...
A .12 guage to the back from chose range won't kill someone? LAME.
Not from chose range, but close range hella yeah, its lethal.
I said pretty close, not close :p
the downside to this game is that a lot of the guns don't feel 'meaty' enough. they just sort of fire. there is no sense of recoil or anything it's just PEWPEWPEWPEW you're firing but you don't really get the sense that you are. probably got a lot to do with the pissy gunshot noises (looking at you, shotgun).
on top of that the bullets hitting the enemy is not really...satisfying. it's like the first COD2, the enemies appear to be made out of paper.
the upside is that they have guns i like, it's fast paced and some brilliant levels (the ghillie suit and AC130 'puff the magic dragon' one). overall an excellent game. just needs some tweaks
this game is like a time eater, pop the game on and next thing you know you are 4-5 hours gone.....
ghillie suit level is probably the coolest FPS experience yet....

I picked it up for $79 from jb
pc version though
Oh man, what a great game! I clocked it yesterday and enjoyed every bullet-dodging, head-shooting second of it.
Complaints?
Well it's a bit short, but what the heck I'll just start again from the beginning and replay the whole game.
I'm hoping an expansion pack is in the pipeline a la COD United Offensive, that would be good.
If you're into shooters, I think you can do (much) worse than picking up this game.
So yeah, COD4 has a Kooper stamp of approval.
80.00 - 70.00?
So nice I bougth it in Amazon and had it delivered to Miami, then to my apartment in Panama for $53.00
8)
$49 for PC in most stores around here....
multiplayer is ace!!!
I broke down and bought it for 360 today. Holy sweet eight pound ten ounce baby Jesus. This game rocks.
