Generally, give your back suspention a pretty soft feel, increase the suspention a few inchs in the back as well. This will help the car Grab during the start. Next lower tire pressure by a few psi's nothing major. You do want to increase the anti-roll in the back, not alot tho. These things should all give your car more grip on the pavement, also move the distributor to around 30-70 with 70 at the rear.
-
How do you move the distributor? :p

lol oops, you guys could figure out what I meant

*nods* cool, I usually race with only ABS, but lately ive been toying around learning the tracks with no assists at all..

Why are you all giving out your strategies? It makes it too easy for noobs to get good. I'm just gonna say that I spent a lot of time on my gear ratios :)
EDIT: New record, 9.035

Did a trial run with a quick setup, got a 9.055. Had to take a pic with the webcam so the res aint that great.
p.s. the enzo is from a rolling start so it doesnt count.

How did you do a rolling start?
-
Its better not to answer that in the forums, might give peopel idea's...

I've gotten mine down to 9.060. Remember to have your times in by Saturday. And then I'll post a new thread with all the times and the winner will get to choose the car, amount of mods, and track for the next challenge.

I've started doing that as well, but I leave the ABS on, it seems that whatever I do, the brakes always lock up on Forza. I mean, even a slight tap like you would do if you were left-foot braking locks up a wheel.

If brake locking is your only problem, lower the pressure. Otherwise what you should try is not a tap, slowly depress the brake untill it locks, memorize the position and follow it up with some practice excercises.
First start with a slower car, when you approach the yellow to red arrows, slowly depress the brakes, you actually decelerate faster by slowly applying them (even with abs on). Make sure you start braking about a quarter of a second before you reach the lines. Next through a right hand turn you want to aim for the back of the turn, slow down untill you know you need to acel through the turn. This will teach you to turn later into the turn, allowing the brakes to use up more speed, incase you overshoot the enterence. Sometimes its also usefull to give the wheel a tap in the direction of the turn before braking and as soon as you get on the brake, zero the steering wheel. As you get to faster and faster cars, the line which crosses over is even harder to find. Still brake early and dont slam it all at once. Its like shooting a gun, you dont pull the trigger as hard as you can in a sudden panic, you gently squeeze it. I dunno if this will help but its what I use.

What I also advise, is picking up a Fanatec Speedster 3 wheel and pedals. They are the best and will aid to your realism and cut your times.

People who dont know how to variable the brake with ABS off will generally keep the lines on. No I dont use the lines and I never said I did, I mearly stated that lines can be used as a training aid while learning to drive with ABS off.
Anyways, I finally got a sub 9 second 1/4 mile. There is an easy trick that I figured out to seperate a 9.30 sec time and a 9.00 time. I will give specs when the competition is over. The time is 8.999, close one eh?
-as previously stated, please disregard the enzo time. I am not sure how to delete times off the board.

For those that cant see, its an 8.979 pass.
I am using the mines skyline R34, as sledgehammer (above me) is using. Quite the 1/4 mile weapon.
