As requested, the Steinmetz Commodore Jumbo.
The Commodore B series was like the A series briefly used in motorsports, and the extreme "Jumbo" Commodore raced in the 1974 "interserie". It used a 6.0-litre V8 engine and had large wings which almost made it unrecognizable as an Opel. It never enjoyed much success despite of its massive powerplant and impressive output.

What is it about Opel that does it for you GS/E?

That's hard to tell. When I got into cars two years ago, I followed the typical path: super cars and other totally unaffordable vehicles. I thought that old cars or affordable ones were stupid and uninteresting, mainly because they were slow or lacked prestige. When I (unavoidably) realized that I would never be able to affor those dream cars, I began to look around. At that time, I considered VW and Audi to be *cough* cool and rather disliked Opel like the most of my age. I never really cared about them- until 2009, when the economy crisis nearly destroyed them. I began to read more about them and realized that the whole bashing had no real reason. After that, I began to develop an interest in their older cars. And then, I found the first gen Commodore.
I really don't know why I love the GS/E so much. It doesn't perform that great (you get cars whith better performance from the same age for less money), and it's looks aren't that outstanding, but I wouldn't want something else, even if you offered me a Lamborghini. For me, it isn't just a car (sounds very stupid, I know :p).
My love to the Commodore somewhat brought me to Opel and also helped me to realize that our society can be immensely ignorant. There is no reason why Opel should be treated like the stepchild of the german auto industry.

Nicely put. Cars are emotion. Great stuff.
Although I would be very tempted to trade it for a Lamborghini. :)
