Fan Control Module
Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know where to locate the Fan Control Module for a Citroen C5 2002 model? (Estate)
Basically it is a freiends car and when he turns the ignition on the fans just blow... and yes i bet you i will hear the "Are you sure the fan is switched off?" Question, but i'l most likely ignore you.
Cheers!,
Adam

Which fans do you mean ? The one of the airco or the normal ones.. Do you mean which button you need to turn on the dash ? We own a C5 too and I have a lot of documentation about it,so I should be able to do a decent job in helping you out :) I just didnt understand, what you meant exactly
If you meant something under the bonnet, please provide the engine (code), so i can view the right document :D

Yup i think it is the one for the air-con.. will ask though.

Probably the thermostat is stuck, no?

To find that out, can you try and turn the system of auto. If it does the same it aint the thermostat.
If it is, IIRC, it is placed behind the dash somewhere between the radio and the ashtray.

I said that referring to the cooling fan. Not the airco one.

Apparently, the fan temperature is wroking fine.. it is just teh speed of the fan that is the problem, ie. it aint turning off.

The cit's have a special thermostat for the interior hidden somewhere :) That is,the ones with the climate control system.

Then my theory might be correct. Sometimes the thermostat gets stuck on low temperatures. But the opposite can happen too.

hmm. this gets though. I tend to think there might be a bug in the electrics. Try and get the computer hooked up and reset. Some dealerships do this for free, not all.

Sure. Before trying to check a simple thing like the thermostat, you should go ahead and reset the whole electronics. How could I not think of that? :D
It's like cutting a leg due to a itching toe.

I rechecked with the more experienced guy downstairs and he says to check the thermostat too first. But if it aint that he has no clue ...
The dash and it's systems are quite notorious among the C5 drivers by now... Resetting is usually a quick and relatively easy solution ;)
PS: the comment about that it keeps the right temp. sent me on the wrong path :)
EDIT: Try and find the Uk C5 club on the net. They might know just a bit more.

Cheers, he wil probably be able to get it to a Citroen Carage.
