What's your Cylinder Index?

Just add up all of the internal combustion cylinders in your possession (cars, power equipment, etc.).

Mine's easy since I don't have my own compressor, lawnmower, etc.

Mustang = 8
Harley = 2
Kia = 4
Toyota = 4
-----------------
= 18 cylinders for me!

Remember that he who dies with the most cylinders wins :p

pimento 02-13-2012 09:19 PM

Aww crap, I only have 3... one twin (pictured) and one single (little beastie).

Mugen_Ferio 02-13-2012 09:30 PM

8 for me. Both my cars are 4 cylinders

kingofthering 02-14-2012 12:17 AM

Baja SAE car - one cylinder, 305cc. :D

Not mine, but something I'm partially responsible for.

Falcon = 6 (Straight Six, woot)
Mower = 1
Edger = 1
Total = 8

(Household is 20)

Matra et Alpine 02-14-2012 06:16 AM

38 + 2 or 6 ? for the rotary :)

12 : 3x Matra Bagheera I4
6 : A610 ( V6 Turbo woot, woot :) )
4 : A40
4 : Espace QUadra
3 : VW Polo
4 : Peugeot 206
4 : Suzuki Bandit bike
1 : garden tools
? : RX-8 ( 2 rotor, 6 chamber )

acfsambo 02-14-2012 06:23 AM

I would say a rotory is 0 as there is no technical 'cylinder'

NSXType-R 02-14-2012 07:08 AM

13

1983 Honda Accord
1995 Acura 2.5 TL
2003 Subaru Forester

I was going to assume 12, but then I remembered the TL is a straight 5. Man that's an oddball car, I don't think Honda ever made another straight 5.

csl177 02-14-2012 07:18 AM

Well, that was sobering: 85.

12: BMW 3.0CS & CSL
12: Porsche 914/6 (2)
24: Porsche 911 (4)
6: Mercedes 280SL
4: Porsche 356
4: VW Microbus
4: BMW 700 (2)
8: Bertram 25
3: Hobie Power Skiff
4: GE Standby Generator
2: Honda portable generator
1: Honda Power Washer
1: Ryobi garden tool

henk4 02-14-2012 07:40 AM

C(3) + c(5) = 8.

300ZX + E36 316i = 10 cylinders.
Sounds great, but I'd be much happier if those 10 cylinders belonged to a Carrera GT instead :\

That is really nutty. I never knew that Honda made an I5. I had to look that up because I didn't know if I could believe it. Is that DOHC with VTEC? That could make for some pretty insane(ly expensive) engine swaps. Sounds like the kind of thing Top Secret would do.

As for me, I just got out on my own feet and am still at zero cylinders. Don't even have a bike right now but at least I am saving lots of money :p

My niece in Canada had (has?) an Acura Vigor, which had an I5...

RacingManiac 02-14-2012 01:47 PM

4 in the Golf...

I don't own anything else

Don't worry, even though I listed three cars, I don't drive any of them in any regular basis. I am car-less just like you.

Yes, the Vigor was before the TL. It's odd, Honda never made another I5 after the 2.5 TL. A good reason why they stopped making them was because the I5 is mounted longitudinally in the car, another odd thing to do. Honda engines are usually transverse mounted, so packaging must be a big reason why they stopped.

I don't know how much power it makes, but I do agree it's relatively torquey and it pulls very well once you're off.
