Launched in October 1958, this model has a different styling to that of the 210, as can be seen in the design of the radiator grille, the shape of the signal lamps, and the larger surface area of the rear window. However, its main feature was greatly improved driving performance, the fruit of experience gained in the Australian rally and the American market. This car was the base for the later Bluebird (Datsun 310).

if this became the bluebird, then it eventually turned into the Altima... the skyline is a much larger car.

Nope actually the predecessor of the Skyline was the electric sedan I posted earlier. That eventually became the Prince Motor Company which made the first Skyline (which is posted in the Skyline thread) and the rest is history as they say...
