The Ford GT90 was originally to be built with 900 hp and 400 km/h.
Oldsmobil Aerotech - 447 km/h (reached)
SVSi Stryker Viper TT - 397 km/h, maybe you can find other data as well.
Weineck Cobra - who knows?
Also, try other CanAm racers as well, like the Shadow Mk1 AVS.
Mercedes C111 III and IV - 403,878 km/h average reached at Nardo
Spirit of 76 - fastest wheel-driven - 696,331 km/h (reached)
Le Mans, WMP 88 - 405 km/h, Sauber-Mercedes C9 - 400 km/h (reached)
KITT - the highest speed I can remember was 268 mph.
The 950 hp Porsche Carrera GT follow-up is coming at 400 km/h.
Orca SC7 - 400 km/h (est)

Wow, thank you!

I didn't know about it. :)
Oldsmobil Aerotech - 447 km/h (reached)
Oh, yes, I forgot it. ;) I have also heard 415 kmh and... 482...
Spirit of 76 - fastest wheel-driven - 696,331 km/h (reached)
Yes, but it is not fastest wheel-driven car. ;) Turbinator reached in 2001 458,4439 mph (738 kph). But cars like those won't never enter street of track, so I'm not including them (there are whoole lot mooore Boneville streamliners which can exceed 400 kph).

I was wandering about this!! Thanks!!

III too? I've read it reached only 327,3 km/h (IV is on my list).
Weineck Cobra - who knows?
It acceletares incredibly, but top speed is "only" about 345 km/h.
-
apart from the dauer 962 the other two variations ought to reach 400 kmh as well, that is DP 962 and schuppan 962 CR

No, sorry, not the III.
I think the Veyron prototypes also reached 400, they had a bit different name (EB16/4).

All I have found about other 962's is:
Porsche DP 962 - 340 kph
Schuppan 962CR - 370 kph
Koenig C62 - 378 kph

dang i thought those things were much faster...
-
In one episode of Knight Rider, there was a 'counter-KITT' called KARR (Knight Automated Roving Robot). It might be appr. as fast as KITT.
I guess they can go beyond 400 in IRL/Champ Car too.

Yes, 340 - 380 km/h is pretty damn close to walking.
-
f50 gt
Top speed: "only" 236 mph (380 km/h).
I guess they can go beyond 400 in IRL/Champ Car too.
According to Wiki IRL speed record is 224 mph (360 kph).

I don't think so: 382,216 km/h average speed thru 1 lap (Guinness book). I'm sure the top speed was over 400.
-
what about the veyron, it has reached the 400km/h and it does have a limiter to that speed because of tires and the fuel deposit size!!
it´s the closest , according to the press, to a 400km/h "friendly"/"every day use" car.
-
It Top Gear TV series they have reached 407,9 kph in Veyron and it is on my list with this top speed. :)

I'll check it. 224 mph (360 kph) was in IRL only... Thanks.
EDIT: Interesting comparsion: http://www.champcarworldseries.com/Tech/Car_Comparisons.asp
Looks like the Champ Car vehicles are fastest.
EDIT2: This is what I've found: "In 2000 Gil de Ferran recorded Honda's fifth consecutive CART Drivers' championship while setting a new world closed-course speed record of 241.428 mph at California Speedway." - 388,5 km/h.
It was at October 28, 2000... Do you know when and where the average of 382,2 km/h was reached?
-
There was an article in an American car mag (can't remember which one) and they did a big top speed test with a Champ car and IIRC it hit around the 380kmh mark
