Our first 911, a Christmas gift for my wife in 2004. Bare shell restoration in 2011 @207,000 miles. A dependable, stylish daily commuter and comfortable tourer.
csl, you love to see it. Good to have you back.
That's a real head turner!
Also nice pictures. :)
Thanks guys, it's a keeper. Would love to post images of my '67 911S, but this thread is titled for T s (the first post is a '72). Who can re-title this thread for all F and G bodied 911s?
If the Hide Out index can't be tweaked, what's the alternative?
The index is a lost cause. I usually sort the entire hide out on alphabetical order.
And than Porsche is at page 246 and there you find https://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum/showthread.php?39172-Porsche-911-(Classic)-1963-1989
But the porsche 911 classic thread is one that needs some more tweaking, and rearranging.
But at the same time, this thread for the T is that really necessary ? It's just a variant of the norrmal 911
Now I remember why I left the classic Porsche thread as it was. I usually follow Wikipedia for a guide to split the thread.
But looking at:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_911_(classic)
I'm a bit puzzled; the difference between A till F isn't big. So one thread could be enough. And there is already a 912 and 930 thread.
I would suggest to split up the 911 Classic thread in two sections at least, one containing the Short Wheel Base versions built from 1963 to 1968 (A model) and then the second part from 1968 to 1989. It might even be better to make a split somewhere during the mid seventies when the SC big bumper model was introduced.
My suggestion how to split the classic 911 family:
1963-1973 Ur-model
1965-1969 912
1973 Carrera RS 2.7
1973-1989 G-model
1974-1989 Turbo
Separate threads for bodystyle: Coupe, Targa, Convertible, Speedster.
This should keep it manageable, I think.
If you single out the 2.7RS I would prefer to have the whole RS generation in one thread, so the 360, 460 and 560 models.
I'm not following you guys. 360 460 560 swb or G-model
I'm confused, if someone else wants to split them up, be my guest
The Classic 911 thread already contains many variants, so its possible (for people who see the difference) to cut and paste from that thread to new threads.
But be mindful that these threads already exist:
