A friend of mine who's a mechanic and has a Mk 2 GTI 16v told me that the G60s are no faster than the 16 valvers in hot weather. Beware with the cooling.

I would second that. There's a difference in power delivery, though, with the 16V needing more revs than the G60 to use the performance. The G60 is torquier, bur the 16V is probably more fun.
Get something that's cheap, fun, reliable and easy to work on.
I'll live, I took a look at a few g60s around my area I like it better than the golf, heat might be a problem when it gets to summer here. I'll go around and ask some owners about it. Does the supercharger really generate so much heat that whatever the car's means of cooling are insufficient? Its a nice looking car though, I love the looks. Unless I come across a different car that I like then I won't be changing my mind. After driving the g60 I've realized how terrible a lot of older cars are lol. I'm pretty much sold, I might have made the best decision of my life or I've ruined it. Oh well its part of growing up lmfao does anyone want to pray this car doesn't get t boned?

No, they aren't.
Let me rephrase that. I've realized how terrible some older cars are. The g60 is a good car that's how come I'm saying some older cars are bad.
