Meh, just another Porsche, unfortunatly, fat ass, the rear lights don't suit it at all and the double xenons in the front ones look ridiculous. Were bi-xenons too expensive for Porsche??
993 you are missed.
In the same way the 993 was a heavily modified 911.
And in the same way the 911 was heavily modified 356... ;)
i saw a black one at the Porsche dealer store today.. and my mouth fell open.. its the best looking porsche i have ever seen, apart from the 996 gt2.. the rear lights are very nice in the real world!! Only thing is.. the rims..:(
The new GT3 looks like it was made for "posers". The previous one looked subtle and purposeful, only a slightly pronounced front and a graceful wing giving away it's true purpose. This one's overly aggressive style makes me think it's towards marketed at people who are determined to convince other people they drive a racecar for the road.
You obviously haven't seen any of the whale tail 911s.
For me a simple interior is the one from the Lotus Elise. Or at the other end of the scale the one from Fiat Panda
Yep I did. After haggling it cost about 25.000€ (originally 27.000€).
I meant the whole car altogether.
I love that interior.
Funny, looking at the pictures, that's the first thing I was thinking as well. Looks like a good place to be in overall.
certainly looks "racier"...
^This - but not this:

Although we may have our different ideas of the direction Porsche went with this new GT3; I think we could all honestly agree that we would have a massive romance explosion (figuratively of course ;)) driving behind the wheel of this machine. Not to be crude or anything.

this.
i really cant think of too many cars i would have ahead of this in its price-point. there are others, but not many. zr-1? gt-r? vantage? used 360CS? M6? all of these are good, but i really have no idea which i would take. but i would be happy to take any of them.

Definitely. I´d probably take this over anything else on 4 wheels. Even in pink.
EDIT: I would then proceed to paint it green.

I'm not a fan of those either with the exception of the 993 Turbo and the "Ducktail" of the 911 Carrera 2.7. The 911 Carrera 2.7 - now THAT was a trackday special.

Agreed.
Oh good Lord, I'm turning into one of those people who only like the air-cooled cars, aren't I?

You farggin' purist!;)

Don't roll like that - the Porsche "purists" that would have us all driving Carrera RS's or 930s or 993 GT2s.
Watercooling is superior and changes nothing about the car really.
You can complain about the new looks (which are way better) or the "neutered" handling, but the air-cooled/water-cooled divide I think is silly. It just so happened that along with that change many there things were many other changes - and for the better in my view (No I have not driven a Porsche).
i wonder how much bigger they can bore that motor out. anyone know? how big do they get it on the after market?
THe one's in the 9ffs are 4.0L.
I'd imagine that the factory will stop making them larger at 4.2-4.5L.
The GT3 RSR is already a factory 4.0.

Except for the noise, which is a big part of the driving exprience.
