Thanks for posting Cyco!! The sound reminds me of an Offshore Power boat, all big chested deep voiced V8!!
If i am correct the CCXR runs on bio-fuel and haves 1000bhp. The CCXR should weigh less than the CCX. Also Koenigsegg finally added a rear spoiler to both the CCXR and the CCGT. Saddly no one had officaly tested these cars. I believe that one of these cars will beat the Bugatti and the Aero SSC.

with that rear wing it could be difficult. but since the CCR with 800 hp set the 388 km/h record, with the add of 200 hp they could at least achieved the 400 target.

I'm sorry but SSC is just more powerful thn the Koenigsegg. The SSC Ultimate Aero TT has 1093 bhp while the Koenigsegg has 1018...
However, bugatti is about to fight back with the Bugatti Veyron GT... It will have about 1300 bhp more or less... As I read on some sites, it may reach 260-270 mph

Aerodynamics along with other considerations need to be taken into account.

The Koenigsegg used for the old top speed record, the CCR, didn't use the wing which allow to the car to be far more stable and controllable. While the 1018 bhp one has a wing, even if is a different one and probably more efficient. so I think the improvement over the wing efficiency (see more more load and less drag) and the horsepower figure couldn't be enough to improve the top speed by 20 kmh, since the power needed for improving the top speed is proportional to the quadratic of the speed itself.
for as regards the rumored Veyron GT, I think the bump in power could allow those speeds, but its aerodynamic it's already quite difficult to manage, so I'm not expecting a huge improvement. actually, they could use a new aero set upto allow a better handling at high speed but reducing it's potential top speed.

I doubt they are very interested in that...

the veyron needs a better handling. not a higher top speed though :)

What the Veyron actually needs is a whole new car. And less top speed bollocks.
Or something.

list for the next car:
-less weight
-less keys
-no multiple programs, just one, "go fast"
-less selling numbers
-less redundant versions
-less years in development
-better sound
-...(feel free to add)...

What about "leave the damn Bugatti name alone, it didn't do anything to you to deserve this".

lol :D
could it be a revenge for the time the old Porsche passed in a French prison during ww2?!

No don't say that or we'll have a million post discussing the political correctness of the post! :D
My name proposal for the new Veyron is "Volkswagen der nieuwe Corrado Überturbo now with extra steroids on the glovebox".
Or something.
Leon, I wasn't think that the Koenigsegg could go faster than the SSC but I was just trying to illustrate that there is more to it than sheer power. What Bleeding Heart said was:
I'm sorry but SSC is just more powerful thn the Koenigsegg. The SSC Ultimate Aero TT has 1093 bhp while the Koenigsegg has 1018...
Possibly inferring that it was strictly a power thing. The CCX hit 402 km/h and the SSC 412 km/h. The CCXR has over 200 hp more than the CCX.
Would it top the 412 by the SSC?
