Sorry bat' , your google search fro French cara manufacturers wasn't complete :)
None of those, but it IS French ( the flag is a giveaway )
Think older !!!!!
Facel Vega
Facel Vega
nope.
As it's an older one you get one more hint ....
The name was derived from surnames of its founders: Lamy and Akar.
Possibly Amilcar?
Possibly Amilcar?
I believe you are correct carlover, let's just wait for the official word.
Wow, that was a tough one. I must say, for the sake of honesty, that I had to do a google search to find the answer. :) Amilcar is correct.
Possibly Amilcar?
well done carlover, you were first.
Here's the logo and the next .....
is it Studebaker?
is it Studebaker?
no.
Nice piece of history on this make....
It may have been the true winner of the first Indy 500 :)
I'll take a shot and say Plymouth?
I don't have much of a clue about Indy racing, so I don't know.
Marmon
Marmon
Ray Harroun in his Marmon is the credited winner of the 1911 Indy 500.
But it was challenged on the day.
The story behind what went on next is astonishing.
( I'll post the link after the answer is guessed for car history freaks like me :) )
So who else was involved????
Lozier, driver Mulford,
further a Fiat and a Mercedes, but those are not the badges. BTW You are starting this thing very early in the morning, do you have internet in your commuter car? :)

Youngest is goign in to school for "study support" over the Easter break - major exams in 2 months - so I'm up getting breakfast and been told she doesn't need to be in for another hour.... so just wasting some time :)
Anyway, yep, Lazier.
Here's the promised link - http://www.na-motorsports.com/Journal/1997/1/RussellJ.html - and interesting timing method and a great story which paints a totally disorganised picture of the first Indy :)
I think everyone knows the script, Here's the complete badge and the new one to go for :)
