I'm a BAD AMERICAN!
YES, I'M A BAD AMERICAN
by : George Carlin
I Am Your Worst Nightmare. I am a BAD American. I am George Carlin.
I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some mid level
governmental functionary be it Democratic or Republican!
I'm in touch with my feelings and I like it that way, damn it!
I think owning a gun doesn't make you a killer, it makes you a smart
American.
I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not
entitle you to anything.
I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac, try to do it in English.
I think fireworks should be legal on the 4th of July.
I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they
want to.
My heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers, and whoever canceled Jerry
Springer.
I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor.
I know wrestling is fake and I don't waste my time arguing about it.
I think global warming is a big lie. Where are all those experts now, when
I'm freezing my ass off during these long winters and paying, paying,! paying?
I've never owned a slave, or was a slave, I didn't wander forty years In the
desert after getting chased out of Egypt. I haven't burned any witches or
been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you! So, shut-the-Hell-up already.
I want to know which church is it exactly where the Reverend Jesse Jackson
practices, where he gets his money, and why he is always part of the problem and
not the solution. Can I get an AMEN on that one?
I think the cops have every right to shoot your sorry ass if you're running
from them.
I also think they have the right to pull your ass over if you're breaking the
law, regardless of what color you are.
And, no, I don't mind having my face shown on my drivers license. I think
it's good.....and I'm proud that "God" is written on my money. I think if you
are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I don't want you deciding who should
be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years.
I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me crap
or trying to guilt me into making "donations" to their cause. These people
should be targets.
I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes two
parents.
And what the hell is going on with gas prices... again?
If this makes me a BAD American, then yes, I'm a BAD American.
If you are a BAD American too, please forward this to everyone you know.
We need our country back!

EDIT: turns out this email i got is not real, but has some good points

I admire your spirit.
First, we need to KICK Bush and the others out. He has ruined America's public image.
-
If the majority voted for bush then why is everyone complaining.

you can vote for somebody and not know what stupid things they are going to do while in office. Just b/c he got re-elected doesnt mean everyone likes him, they just liked him better then the other guy. does anybody know his approval ratings by the way?
oh, and nice post. i agree w/ the vast majority of what it had to say.

usual pointless tirade 90% of which you coudl drive a truck through :D
Brought a smile though, explains most of the problems

I'm pretty sure that 'sunk' had that opinion before the 2004 election.
And if they don't like the candidate, then they either shouldn't have voted for either one, or voted at all. If the two candidates are Hitler and Nero, are you still going to vote for the one you like better than the other guy?
But, his ratings have dropped since Miers and Katrina. His chances of being re-elected right now (if there was an election tommorrow) are pretty much nil.

Where's Fleet at? I'm not on enough or mature enough to argue this debate.
Fleet, wherefore art thou? Wouldn't thou callest a republican but but another name, wouldn't thy republican smell as sweet?:D

Not that it's any bragging rights for a president.. but...:p
Historical Comparisons
Ever since Gallup first started asking Americans to rate the president in the late 1930s, seven other presidents have experienced a time when a majority of Americans have disapproved of them. Only four presidents never had a disapproval rating over 50%: John F. Kennedy's highest disapproval was 30% about two weeks before his death; Dwight Eisenhower's highest was 36% in March 1958; and both Franklin D. Roosevelt and Gerald Ford scored a 46% disapproval rating as their highest.
* Bill Clinton's highest disapproval rating was 54% in September 1994. In fact, several polls that year found at least 50% of Americans disapproving of Clinton's performance as president.
* In the summer of his re-election bid, 60% of Americans told Gallup they disapproved of the way George H.W. Bush was handling the presidency. Across the 14 polls conducted from May 1992 through October 1992, a majority of Americans expressed disapproval in Bush.
* In January 1983, 56% of Americans said they disapproved of Ronald Reagan. Five polls conducted from December 1982 through February 1983 found at least 50% of Americans disapproving of Reagan.
* Many of the polls conducted in 1979 and 1980 found majority disapproval of Jimmy Carter's performance. His highest disapproval was 59% in June and July 1979.
* Just prior to his resignation as president, 66% of Americans said they disapproved of the way Richard Nixon was handling the presidency.
* In March 1968, Gallup found that 52% of Americans disapproved of Lyndon B. Johnson. Johnson's disapproval ratings were at 50% or higher only four times in his presidency.
* Harry Truman scored the highest disapproval rating in Gallup's history -- 67% -- in January 1952. Truman also scored the lowest approval rating in Gallup's history, 23%, in the same poll.
Also watch out the polls.
We were once cited "opinon" based on poll and it turned out it was a TELEPHONE poll of jsut over 1000 people. First phone poll removes some from the sample for obvious reasons and 1000 isn't representative for a nation the size of the US :)

ya he would have a problem of getting re-elected..considering he's already had his two terms...can't go for a third you know..;) take some gov. classes...
If the majority voted for bush then why is everyone complaining.
The thing is that John Kerry,(for any who don't know, he was Bush's opponent) had 5,000,000 MORE votes than Bush in the popular elections.
