Angry Prius Drivers
I've started to notice a new trend in Los Angeles: angry Prius drivers. More and more it feels like I'm noticing Prius drivers who weave in and out of traffic, passing on the right, nail it at the light and honk if you don't go for it on yellow. I'm used to such behavior in BMW, VW and Honda drivers, in a Toyota Prius? You'd think their sense of self satisfaction from saving the Earth would mellow them out a bit, but nope.
Please let me know if this is happening in other parts of the world or if it's unique to LA.

don't they know Prius' superior economic performance is stemmed by not driving aggresively and keep the electric motor use for as long as possible, or else they'll get worse mileage than a Corolla?
-
ha! the ultimate oxymoron a prius being driven aggressively! tbh there arent enough priuses where I am to pin down such trends.
-
I see no Priui on the road. I think they are largely a California phenomenon.

I was recently keeping the speed limit and I was overtaken by a Prius. (Forgot to write down the license plate number...)

I've seen Prius just a couple times... Hybrid Lexus'es are far more popular here.

Thankfully it's the same here.
See, we aren't fooled by green marketting tactics... :)

I am more facing another problem. They drive so dangerously slow that I had to brake heavily more than once for them.
One day, about two months ago, I was stuck behind one on a narrow dike around mifnight. Speed limit is 60, she drove 20. Then she stopped in the middle of nowhere and just stood there for five minutes. I couldnt turn around because a tractor stood behind me, unable to turn. Then she continued at a terryfyingly fast pace of 10 km/h. Honestly I was getting pretty pissed off there and I showed a certain finger when driving by.

It may well have been a joke.

there are only 14 of them in Denmark, so it's not evry day i see one..

I see a fair number of them around here, not tons but not none of them. I can understand why some people drive them like that though. SilverG35sportC has one and we used to try and see how hard we could get that sewing machine going
-
I didn't think that they would have the performance to pull off such a stunt.

I see them cruising down the highway a lot but have never noticed overly agressive driving styles.
