Mom's new (old) Buick
My mom just bought a 1997 Buick Century, and it has 285,000km on it. It has a little delay in starting (about 4 seconds).... what can I do to make it run for her for awhile (continue to run... ahem)...
It has high mileage, and I want her to be able to use it for awhile... without it dying on her...

Run some fuel injector cleaner in it, change the spark plugs, and stop lying.

I'm not lying...

Is that before or after he trades it for a Viper?
-
my advice is to chang oil filters and exhaust
my grandfather has a '92 taurus and it worked great after he had those done.
BTW he didn't want to replace the exhaust but the exhaust fell off after he tried to drive it over a pile of snow in front of the driveway

Make sure you check when the last time the oil was changed. Just to be safe get it changed or do it yourself, its cheap insurance. You might want to check the coolant and see if its dirty or slimy also.
What engine does it have? My friend drives a Buick also.

It might be as simple as needing a new battery.

It could be as simple as buying a car thats more reliable.

I want proof... now...

It won't be any problem to get a piece of paper on a COLUMN SHIFTER...
lol I'll do it, but I'm using a flash camera, so it'll take like 3 days to develop :D.

Might try to get the fuel filter changed, if that's blocked up it'll starve the engine of fuel, and of the PO was like most Buick owners, the filter probably never got changed.
