Britannia Formula Junior
Britannia FJ
The Britannia Formula Junior was designed by John Tojeiro on behalf of Britannia Racing, owned by Ackland Geddes. It arrived late in the season in 1960 and made little impression. Technically it was not revolutionary either, only the fact that the Kent engine was tuned by Basson made it different. No significant results were obtained during its brief career.
Soon after its launch Brittannia went into liquidation and John Tojeiro bought enough parts to put together six cars, ran under his own name. The results were not better..
This example participates in Formula Junior Lurani cup and is shown here at the Silverstone Classic. Unfortunately the hood is off, and it is exactly the high tail that makes it look distinctive from other contemporary FJs. Any other pics available?
