The #9 has set the fastest time of the race yet 3:18.477
Another fastest time for Audi, at 3:17.647.
.. And then pitted. But is still faster.
I wonder if Nissan's concept would work better as an LMP2 car with less power and more aero. Get on the power earlier out of the corners, etc.
Well, when they get the hybrid system to work it will the most powerful car of the grid and it will have far less drag. Apparently theoretically it should be able to reach 360km/h at the Mulsanne straight (the other sit currently at 335km/h or so).
The #9 is hunting down the leading Porsche. It is much faster than it.
Curious to see the GT-R LM overtaking the LMP2 Alpine on the straight and the Alpine catching the Nissan on the corners.
Following a pit stop by the #17 Porsche, the Audi #9 re-takes the lead.
Apparently the #17 is under investigation for overtaking in a "slow zone".
The #7 overtook the #17 and took the lead, but has just stopped in the box.
Seems like it will be a speed/strategy race.
#18 has crashed into the barriers at the end of Mulsanne. It seems it will be able to continue though.
The #97 Aston which was fighting for the GTE lead is out of the race.
1 minute stop and go penalty for Webber in the #17 for overtaking under yellows. This leaves Hulkenberg in the #19 in the lead.
You are still awake?! I am not gonna have much chance to watch this year but it's been neat to read UCPs summary.
Still here.
#19 is leading and Nick Tandy is driving a fast stint.
#18 has crashed... again.
All Nissans are either out or in the box making repairs.
Audis wait and see strategy.
Toyotas... nobody cares.
The Corvette still in the lead of GTE.
After 12 hours seems like the #19 Porsche is in control, with the following Audi about a minute behind.
The real fight is in GTE where the two leading (#64 Chevrolet and #99 Aston Martin) cars are separated by 5 seconds.
