Having been narrowly defeated by Porsche in the 2nd Japan GP (1964), the Prince Motor Co., Ltd. went full-out to develop Japan’s first real racing car. Since the 1965 Japan GP was cancelled, its debut race was the 3rd Japan GP (Fuji) in 1966. The car shown is Y. Sunako’s No.11 car, which defeated Porsche to win the championships. H. These black and whites you have been posting have often been beautiful. I really liked seeing the B and Ws from Nissan racers in the 80s when the technology had long since been surpassed; it was an odd juxtaposition for me.
The grainy image quality - it could be argued - enhances the photographs, or at least makes them interesting. I am used to seeing crystal clear images, and the fact that there is some roughness prebuilt into these film shots is kinda cool.
I am not well versed in Nissan's history in sportscar racing, but you have piqued my interest. I will have to dig into this.
Thanks for the bevy of shots!

These cars remain, unlike Yatabe, which was destroyed in 2005.
