M5, family car that kicks ass...
The Audi RS6, Lotus Carlton, Volvo S60R, Jaguar XJR
Ordinary shoebox called Lancia Thema 8.32. The best thing about it - practically no one has ever heard of it.
Is that the one with the ferrari engine?
First gen M5... no doubt for me.
Audi RS4. Its everything I could want and more.

Yes...

Any stats? If it's BMW M5 fast, then that would be great as a Q car.
Just remembered, C32 AMG or C55 AMG, the previous model of course.
The latest one is far too crazy and showy to be a Q car.
By the way, why does it seem that no one makes a proper Q car anymore?
The newest Q car is the Audi RS4 probably.
It's not M5 fast. The first series without catalytic converters had 215bhp, did 150mph and 0-62mph in 6"8 seconds.
A modern Q car? Probably a debadged standard BMW 135i.

Look at how chunky that crakle finish is, they could have shaved meaningful weight by deleting that :)
Wasn't the turbo 2.0L faster than the Fezza engine'd model?
Biggest problem I have with the M5 6-cyl being a Q-car is they weren't really that fast a car .. even in their day
High fives to low sixes with good mid range...a VN SS Commodore won't match that with it's 5.0L

Yes, later 16V Turbo models were quicker from 0 to 100 km/h. As a matter of fact, Thema 8.32 is probably the slowest of all Q-car's mentioned here, but that's not the point ;).

It's a Q-ship that invested in a really nice brig instead of some big guns. The Cortina is slower..just.
For me, the ultimate Q Car is most probably an Audi, followed by BMW and Volvo.
In my head, a Q Car is something that packs a punch, but is only obvious to a car nut.
For example, the B7 RS4; to someone who knows nothing about cars it is just a normal Audi, just with fat arches and makes a racket.
Although, something like a Maserati GranSport (just off the top of my head) may also be seen as a Q Car to some extent, in that its aggression is very subtle, yet you know it's something special.
However, I believe that a Q Car should be something that only a car enthusiast can identify, which is why the B7 RS4 (Avant especially) is the current ultimate Q Car.

Yeah, that works as well. The Tii version too, maybe.

With a black bonnet, white stripes and fake carbonfibre everywhere?
No I don't think so. ;)

Actually yes, yes it is the point. A Q-car that's not fast isn't a Q-car at all.

Well it is lighter, so if you work on all those little bits and pieces, it could become a Q car.
That's the reason why I put the "maybe" in. :D
