RM Sotheby's Palm Beach results with McLaren Senna and Shelby Cobra ...

This weekend, the RM Sotheby's Palm Beach online-only, time-based auction concluded. A week's worth bidding provided a big of a mixed bag for the Anglo-Canadian company with the headlining LaFerrari Aperta stalling before the reserve was met. The sale was eventually topped by the road-going Porsche 911 GT2 we featured a couple of weeks ago. Another top-seller was this delivery mileage McLaren Senna. Finished in grey with McLaren orange accents, it changed hands for $847,000.
The third highest seller was this AC Shelby Cobra. Completed early in 1963, it was one of the first to be fitted with the 289 engine. Like so many road-going Cobras, it was later modified with a more powerful engine and flared arches but a recent restoration saw to it that the car was put back to its original configuration. Owned by only a handful of collectors during the last four decades, the Cobra sold over the weekend for $682,000.
The Bonhams Goodwood Members' Meeting sale also scheduled for this weekend was cancelled and it remains to be seen when the next major auction will be held.
