There sure is, but that chance decreases by the hour.

A map of past S.F. earthquakes...
You could ask someone who lives in San Francisco.
Yes, there are occasional shocks, but nothing major. However, certain parts of the city are screwed, such as the Marina, which was literally built on landfill.
Yeah, always a lot of damage in the Marina District in a big quake.
We had a small earthquake in my area two weeks back. It happened around 3am, and I didn't notice it because I was sleeping like a rock. My folks said that it shook them up pretty good though.
Alameda would be even worse than Marina in this case......
Guess what? Hollywood be at Alaska in a million years!!! :D
Do you have earthquake insurance on that $500,000 compy of yours?
Pets have been shown, through studies, to have a sensory perception of imminent disaster - thats why Birds leave areas, for example, before inclement weather.
Hopefully the earthquakes are just small releases of pressure - it's better to have a few small ones than one big one :)

What are you talking about? My PC costs less than yours. It's not my fault that you paid twice as much as my Opteron for your X2 4200+.

And what was that other processor you paid $300 for that you told me about?:)

That was the 3500+ over a year ago and it was one of the most bang for the buck CPUs at the time!! Oh well at least my $150 Opteron 165 makes your $300 X2 4200+ cry. :D

If you added in all the hours you spend overclocking and monkeying around with it, the labor added would make your compy cost $8,000.:D

Actually, that will take around 50 million years. It will take Hollywood about 15 million years to reach San Francisco (or what's left of San Francisco).
It's gonna be like Escape from New York.
