That's a shame. While a rusted-out junkyard special might not have retained the structural integrity of a [i]pristine[/i] and beautiful '59 (or lack thereof), it would have been much much easier to watch.
On the other hand, a rusted out one would probably be statistically more likely to crash and would also prove a more extreme demonstration of the risks of an old vehicle that's not been properly maintained. So there would be merit there.

Yeah, purely based on the number of janky vs. well-kept old cars on the road the banger scenario would be more likely.
