McNaughts Comet
This was taken out the front of my mate’s house last Tuesday. I saw it on Wednesday and again on Thursday night when we were down the Coorong. Out there there are no lights to contend with and it was awesome. Much better than Halley’s miserable effort some years back. If anyone wants to see it next time around you can stay at my joint I won’t be needing it. It is due in another 100,000 years.

Thanks for the new wallpaper. :)
It gives me some motivation to fix my telescope and start star gazing again.

You southern hemisphere people have all the luck... :)

Nice high-res pic, someone should photoshop it

We had an amazingly clear view of it at my place, the tail alot more visible than in that pic.
I'll try and get a picture tonight but no guarantees that it will be very clear tonight...or that my cameras good enough

We had an extremely good view of it down in a little place called Takaka when we were on holiday, the tail was much larger than that. Its gets larger round about midnight atm, i think. If you live in a city its not so great to view because of the city lights best to get out in about to see it. lol.

That picture was taken in Adelaide out over the gulf so it is what it is. I was certainly much more impressive down the Coorong.

Oh sonofabitch. My friend told me about this. I was too busy trying to play Spyro the Dragon on my PSP, and forgot to look. It'll come back soon....right guys?
I LIVE ON TOP OF A BIG HILL IN THE COUNTRYSIDE! It would be so perfect. >.<

I saw it on Friday as I was driving in to Healsville. Spectacular!

Astronomers predict Comet McNaught's next return will be in about 85,000 years. "Give or take a few thousand years," Gilmore said.

I saw it a few weeks ago in Sydney - still looked spectacular when I saw it driving home 1 night.

I saw a photo of it over Sydney in broad daylight. Amazing. I have to find that picture.
