Here is a generic example of the type of work carried out by an automotive aerodynamics development department.
Pre development
Competitor testing / benchmarking - wind tunnel
Research
Target setting
Styling/Design phase
Initial modelling of themes - CFD
Scale modelling - wind tunnel
Full Scale clay - wind tunnel
Aerobuck testing - wind tunnel
Cooling aerobuck testing - wind tunnel
Cooling airflow - CFD
Quality maturation
Continued aerobuck testing - wind tunnel
Prototype aero surveys - wind tunnel
Production vehicle status tests - wind tunnel
Your CFD guy's going to be sat there for quite a while, twiddling his thumbs :D
now if anyone else was replying theyd argue and quote lots of crap...but i cant be arsed! you win again.
Damn that is really close to what I have been imagining good work Ruim :)
I think you might want to get alittle more head room for interior space as well as the typical reinforcements of a roof.
I like the blockey front end :)
We need to see the back though (it's cut off from the pictures) and may I suggest that you don't enclose the engine in the same compartment as the cabin. It makes cooling that much easier.
Thanks, it's still very primitive, i didn't do the back, just wanted to see how the top and middle lines could be.
The car needs more imput from everyone. Where the hell is the rest of the design team!? :D
-
Also Ruim at a later date when the engine department has come further along with engine design I would like to see several duct designs. Since it is a mid-mounted engine there will probably be some form of intake scoops on the sides near the rear wheels or maybe up on the C pillars...
It would be great to see something that looks good on the design you have come up with so far.

If you need help, I can print out the profile, do some detail work, scan it and upload it...

Yeap, that has to be defined to, most importantly, if it is going to be a very visual intake or a more refined and discreet one.

just draw on top of the "clean" seat/wheel/engine squematic, any type of design/crazy ideia you can come up with. new ideias are allways welcome. :)

I finally sketched something; it's terrible, and this project might be dead, but I'll contribute.

haha lol, we have a new thread, its "UCP the kickoff!"
but nice design lol, its like a bug

Not enough guns.
Guns and rockets.
Not enough guns and rockets, definatly.
