Hahaha then I would blame the driver in your case :D
forgot to let the clutch all the way out didn't you?
Have you ever actually driven an AWD car? And have any been able to be driven away after you dumped the clutch on them?

my subura justy shudders when you try to move away quickly

Questions like: is there a material out there that disintegrates completely upon impact ? (I'd like to know this :p ).
Could we also open up a temporary subforum ? Like we had with the first UCP supercar ?
AFAIK kevlar, if formed in the right way.
Thats not up to me. However it might be a nice idea. So mods, get to work :D

I had a short blast in a '05 Subaru STi. It didn't have any trouble taking off with 6000rpm WOT and dumping the clutch. And yes that is with the DCCD set to 50/50.
The revs drop quickly and the tires chirp and you get the feeling that the engine gets bogged but it does take off hard. The only time I got a whiff of burnt clutch was when I spun it and downshifted to first and floored it while the car was just finishing the spin.

These thins you guys are talking about, all depends on the set-up of the driveline :)
Good luck designing !

ok ht99 its you and me so far on the engine: we need a brief....weight,power,etc...
-
Front-Mid RWD....didn't see a front-mid option though.
Something like the Maybach Exelero....huuuuuuuuuuuuge bonnet, neo goth looks, enormous engine....
Infact...we should just steal the Exelero and claim we did it..

So far for the suspension im thinking magnetically controlled shocks ala Ferrari 599, and progressive rate springs.
Chassis will probably be monocoque, with aluminium/carbon fibre honeycomb

Well I am thinking 6L V12 as the base. Still thinking if it should be turboed, SCed or dual twincharged (heavy, big, but very fun!)
I hope the suspension team takes a look at the BOSE suspension system.

Are you going for figures, or the general feel of the car?

id rather keep it NA but...for FI parallel t/c i would like. FI ruins the oppertunity for simple cross-head gasflow analysis
-
The BOSE system isn't proven. And I have my doubts about it, it's great but nothing special either. There are other systems that do the same at a fraction of the cost.
And why not something like a Twin super/turbocharged 3.0 V12.
And why not something like a Twin super/turbocharged 3.0 V12.
id rather avoid super hot HP turbo engines. I'd much rather have LPT's on a larger engine. Since it doesnt have to be as strong it might not be too much heavier.....my 2 cents:)
plus my dual sprung valve lifting idea:

What about Electromagnetic Valve Actuation ?
What about Electromagnetic Valve Actuation ?
i am a mechanical engineer and have much less knowledge of electromagnetic fields. For me it would be no more than a concept. good idea though....
