The media has been anti-Russian for quite some time, and then people start believing it's the right thing to be anti-Russian.
Fortunately there are people who can see past the bullsh*t and look at the real picture.
Georgia was invading a breakaway region to take it back, killing their citizens, but they were also Russian citizens because they held Russian passports. So Russia decided to invade to protect their citizens and end Georgia's aggression, and all of a sudden Russia is the bad guy.
I don't know about anyone else, but Georgia is the clear bad guy here. They've bombed their own towns and cities and killed humanitarians. It doesn't matter if their president is pro-Western.
I hate it that every time Russia does something questionable, the media has to use it for an anti-Russia campaign. The Cold War has been over for almost 20 years for f**k's sake.
i am 100000000000000000% with you bro,Russia is doing great after braking way from communism, yes the have some problems with wanna-be "Russian Mafia" this guy's are cancer to good people of Russia.
He didn't do anything to get us out of the depression. WW2, excessive government spending for war, and the subsequent manufacturing boom did that trick.
Yeah, kinda got a bit caught up there. Hell, if I remember correctly, he almost screwed us over a bit more when the 2nd New Deal came along.
But my original idea still stands - he kept the nation from really splintering.

i don't know what examples you're using, but nobody minded when USA invaded afghanistan. but, feel free to show me where, say, Iraq or Vietnam attacked the USA? and in this case, Ossetian militants attacked Georgia who attacked Ossetians which brought Russia in..with no attack on russia itself?
-
Russia has a lot of nationals in Ossetia. but thats just the same for any Balkans country, basically.
Georgia picked a fight it couldn't win, and is now complaining.
Russia fired it's itchy trigger finger to 'protect' a breakaway region from a Pro-western slanted Government. most likely with the intentions of getting in the Ossetians good books.
It's a mess, bluntly. and while I think the Georgians probably shouldn't have started this, it doesn't cover Russia from skipping through Ossetia & incuring into Georgia proper.

Although it appears the Russians have not violated the cease fire right now I believe the oil pipeline that runs through Georgia transporting Caspian Oil is a big motive for the Russian invasion. It is the only pipeline in the region that Russia does not have control over and it has pissed them off for years that Georgia allowed BP to build the pipeline outside of the Russian sphere of influence. Any oil or natural gas going to Europe outside of their control weakens their influence.

wait, so really the NVA only killed a single US soldier there, by accident when he was on an OSS mission, and that constitutes a direct attack on the USA?

Wait, actually, the United States was attacked by Britain in the War of 1812. They marched onto the East Coast and burnt down part of the White House. So...yes, that's probably the only time (up until the excursion of a Mexican rebel) the US has invaded.
