and in 69 and 70 the 426 hemi was used in the Charger Daytona and Roadrunner Superbird in NASCAR, and was banned because it whooped everything else and also was the first car to break 200 in NASCAR

in 65 or 66, thre was 426 Hemi that the factory claimed made 425 horses, but there are stories of people testing them on dynos at around 575 horses. sadly it was a race engine :(
