A while ago a buddy of mine who owns the water taxi company around where I live was telling me all about his car restoration hobby and all the amazing machines that he owns. He mentioned an old mustang, a Straigt-six Mark II Jag, etc, but what stood out above all was his favorite: A 1995 Ultima Sport, the only one in Canada. Just today I finally managed to get out to his place to check it out. Amazing.
I met him on the driveway out front powerwashing his boat and the Ultima was sitting there, rear portion of the car off. He removed the spoiler to re-mount it on the actual body, rather than its usual location bolted onto the frame (the problem was, you had to remove the spoiler everytime you wanted to remove the back to work on the engine).
So there it was, running open headers, in all its glory. Revved it up to about 1/6 of the 7000 or so redline and it was loud. Gotta love the sound of a gurgling 400+ hp Chevy 350, and it's only gonna be that much better when your face is sucked into the back of your skull doing 0-60 in 3.4 seconds
Anyway, I was on bike, so I didn't have a camera, but this weekend I might grab some pictures. He's off to a British Car meet at Van Dusen gardens here in Vancouver next weekend, and I just might get the passenger seat for the way there. Anyway, if all goes well I'll be bringing you guys some pictures by next Saturday or Sunday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed
